Blockchain Integration
Eden: Discovery features a unique blockchain integration wherein a number of design features are prioritized:
Digital Asset security & safety
User friendliness, especially considering web2 gamers
Optional blockchain features
Digital Asset security & safety
Ensuring the protection of users’ items, tokens, and digital assets is our highest priority. We employ a three-pronged approach to maintain a robust level of security:
Industry Standard Security Solution We integrate Easy Anti-Cheat, an industry standard security solution widely used in the gaming industry. This tool helps us prevent and detect cheating or fraudulent activities, acting as a first line of defense for our players’ assets.
Proactive Monitoring with AI Our system logic is continuously checked for authenticity and potential vulnerabilities using advanced AI monitoring.
Bug Bounty Program We incentivize ethical hackers and community members to uncover potential exploits. This program not only rewards those who find and report bugs but also fosters a culture of shared responsibility, helping us stay one step ahead of emerging threats.
In tandem with this layered security model, any smart contracts used - particularly those for burning and minting - undergo rigorous audits by top-tier agencies to confirm their reliability. We also implement additional protective measures that we choose not to disclose publicly, ensuring that both current and future features remain secure. By combining tested industry standards, AI-driven vigilance, and community engagement, we provide a secure environment for players to enjoy their digital assets with confidence.
GameShift by Solana Labs
GameShift by Solana Labs powers Eden: Discovery’s blockchain integration, providing a secure and streamlined backend for all on-chain interactions. As a developer-focused infrastructure layer, GameShift abstracts away the complexity of Web3—handling wallets, minting, transactions, and metadata—so players can enjoy true digital ownership without needing any prior blockchain knowledge.
Key Roles in Eden
NFT Ownership of In-Game Assets
GameShift is used to convert in-game items to NFTs and vice versa, giving players verifiable ownership and the ability to trade or sell assets outside the game. Each weapon along with its attachments can be converted to a single unique NFT. Similarly, weapon NFTs can be converted to individual weapon parts to be used in the game, reassembled and/or converted to a new NFT.
Tournaments
Eden uses GameShift’s Tournaments API to power skill-based competitions with real stakes. This allows the game to:
Register and manage competitive events on-chain
Distribute prizes automatically in the form of tokens
Provide transparent, verifiable results for winners and participants
GameShift enables Eden to embrace the future of player-owned economies, combining the benefits of Web3 with the simplicity of Web2 design.
The gamer flow
Eden: Discovery embraces a hybrid model, offering players the best of both worlds - traditional gaming accessibility and the ownership potential of Web3. To achieve this, the game is available in two versions: a Web2 version distributed via Steam and a Web3-enabled version accessible through Eden’s own launcher. Both versions are unified under a single account system, ensuring that players can transition fluidly between experiences without fragmenting their progress or identity.
At the core of Eden’s blockchain design is seamless interoperability - not just between platforms, but between economies. Players from both Web2 and Web3 versions can play together, without compromise. This is made possible through a “burn-on-import / mint-on-extract” system that bridges in-game usage and on-chain ownership in a way that preserves game integrity and prevents duplication.
When a Web3 item - such as a weapon, skin, or resource - is imported into the game, the associated NFT is burned on-chain. This ensures the asset becomes a unique in-game instance, ready to be used in matches without causing balance or economy issues. The item exists solely within Eden’s ecosystem during this time, behaving just like any other in-game item.
At any point, players may choose to extract their items back to the blockchain. When they do, the system mints a new NFT representing that specific item, now updated with metadata reflecting any changes or upgrades made during gameplay. This approach keeps Eden’s competitive environment clean and resistant, while still allowing players to take full advantage of blockchain-based ownership, trading, and interoperability when they choose to do so
