# Buy-in matches & Tournaments

EDEN: Discovery introduces high-stakes buy-in matches - a mode designed for players who trust their instincts, skill, and nerve.

These matches follow the same rules as standard Wasteland runs: if you die, you lose everything you brought into the match. In buy-in matches, players additionally wager SOL to participate, increasing both the risk and the potential reward.

> All buy-in matches are governed by transparent, on-chain logic. Wagers are locked before deployment and settled automatically at match completion - ensuring fairness, trust, and zero counterparty risk.

Buy-in matches are intended for experienced players and are designed to test decision-making, positioning, and execution under real pressure. There are no gameplay advantages or special rules - only higher stakes.

To our knowledge, this type of open, skill-based high-stakes gameplay has not been meaningfully implemented in existing titles. By removing traditional entry barriers and centralized gatekeeping, EDEN aims to make competitive, high-stakes play accessible to any player willing to take the risk.
